Outdoor movies return to Central Park this weekend
Downtown Rochester’s Movies in the Park returns this weekend with a full summer lineup of blockbuster films.
The series, presented by the Rochester Downtown Alliance and Altra Federal Credit Union, will begin Saturday with a showing of Black Panther. In addition to the film, activities will include a mural art project, photo booth, and Wakandan alphabet scratch art. Limited tickets remain.
The lineup will continue on June 26 with the classic Casablanca. Treats from Carroll’s Corn and Café Steam will be available at both events.
Other films scheduled for this summer include:
July 10: Dirty Dancing (People’s Choice vote in public poll)
July 24: Zootopia
August 14: The Wizard of Oz
August 28: Shrek (Kids’ Choice vote in public poll)
Movies start at 7:30 p.m. in Central Park. While the events are free to attend, reservations are being required this year. Hand sanitizing stations will also be present, and masking is encouraged, the RDA says.
The downtown series is one of several outdoor movie lineups scheduled for this summer in Rochester. Rochester Mom has a full list on its website.
