No plans yet for former Dooley's site
It appears the former Dooley’s site may stay dark for the foreseeable future, after a recent request for proposals failed to generated interest in the space.
The city said Tuesday that it did not receive a single response to the RFP, which went live on March 4. The City of Rochester owns the space, along with the rest of the nine-story BioBusiness Center, 255 First Avenue SW.
“We are evaluating options and listing the site for lease is a likely option we may move forward with,” said city spokesperson Jenna Bowman.
The city is looking to find a new tenant for the space after the previous occupant, Dooley’s Pub, closed after an 11-year run there.
As we previously reported, the city opted to work with Dooley’s on a “mutual” deal to terminate the bar’s lease, which was not set to expire until 2024. Up until the past year, Dooley’s had been paying about $14,200 a month in rent for the space, plus taxes and operating costs.
