First Meeting Noodle sets opening date; Cameo owners launch ghost kitchen
The much-awaited opening of First Meeting Noodle in southwest Rochester is set for this weekend.
The restaurant announced on Facebook it plans to be ready to begin serving up authentic Chinese cuisine on Sunday. First Meeting had hoped to open last fall, but delays in equipment forced them to postpone the date.
“It’s been a tough time for all of us,” the business wrote. “We worked really hard to finally make it [happen].”
First Noodle will offer both dine-in and take-out from its location at 793 16th Street SW, next to Buffalo Wild Wings and Associated Bank.
The restaurant will specialize in hand-pulled noodles and other fresh traditional Chinese dishes. (Our original story can be read here.)
Cameo owners launch fast casual concept
For those looking for comfort food of a different variety, a new option popped up this week featuring a few twists on standard American fare.
Ziggys, a concept from Early Bird Hospitality Group, began taking orders on Wednesday. The restaurant will operate as a “ghost kitchen,” meaning customers must order through its website or a delivery app.
Ziggys’ pick-up location is Cafe Relish, another concept run by Early Bird, located inside the Rochester Athletic Club, 3100 19th Street NW. (Early Bird, owned by Zach and Danika Ohly, also operates Cameo at the Castle.)
The menu for Ziggys features freshly-made, in-house “hand dipped chicken tenders, smash burgers and other fun creations for all the connoisseurs of fried chicken,” according its announcement.
