Ward 1's Keane to seek re-election

Ward 1's Keane to seek re-election

Ward 1 Rochester City Councilor Patrick Keane will seek a second term in office, he announced on Thursday.

Keane was first elected in 2018 by a razor-thin margin. His ward covers much of the southwest portion of Rochester.

“As a grandparent, husband, and father, I think my values and priorities align well with my neighbors in Ward 1,” Keane said in the announcement. “Like them, I want to live in a community that is safe, efficiently run, and provides fair, sustainable economic opportunities for everyone. It’s been my honor to work for our community as Ward 1 representative on our city council. I want to continue the work to build a stronger Rochester.”

So far, no other challengers have emerged in the race for Ward 1. The filing period for local office is from May 17 through May 31.
