The school district has also canceled all evening classes, activities and athletics Thursday evening.
A blizzard warning for the region is in effect through 3 a.m. Friday. The National Weather Service says a combination of snow and strong winds will create white-out conditions. Officials in several southeast Minnesota counties are recommending people stay off the roads, unless absolutely necessary.
The school district canceled school Wednesday because of the brutal cold.
