Scott Weiland was set to perform in Rochester before sudden death
Singer Scott Weiland was found dead Thursday night in Bloomington. He had been scheduled to perform with his band, The Wildabouts, Friday night at the Wicked Moose in Rochester.
A statement posted to Weiland’s Facebook and Instagram accounts said he died in his sleep while on a tour stop. His manager later confirmed his death to the media. He was 48.

Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, struggled with substance abuse problems over his career. However, his exact cause of death is not known.
The Wicked Moose wrote on Facebook that it will issue full refunds for the show. Tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded; while tickets purchased at the pub will need to be brought in.
GB Leighton, the band scheduled to open for Weiland, will still perform at 9 p.m. In honor of Weiland's career, his music will be played during set breaks.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Weiland family and the Wildabouts family," the post says. Weiland had been playing smaller gigs with his new band following the release of their first album.
Another singer, Chris Young, has also cancelled tonight's show in Rochester — due to a strep throat infection. The concert has been rescheduled for Jan. 8 at the Mayo Civic Center.
