State patrol identifies victim of fatal crash near Stewartville (updated)
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A Mower County man was killed Wednesday morning in a crash with a semi on Highway 63.

The State Patrol reports the incident happened just before 8:30 a.m. about two miles south of Stewartville.
The semi truck was traveling northbound when it collided with a small car traveling southbound. The driver of the car, 23-year-old Derek Soltau, of Leroy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, a 58-year-old man from Arlington, Tex., was not injured.
MnDOT established a detour on local roads for several hours following the incident.
Road conditions were described as "icy" at the time of the crash.
