Motorcyclist killed in crash on Highway 52 in Rochester (updated)
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a deer Friday night in south Rochester.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, it happened around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 52 near the intersection with Highway 63.
The driver, identified as 40-year-old Timothy Myhre of Rochester, was reportedly unable to avoid colliding with a deer that crossed the roadway.
The southbound lanes of Highway 52 were closed for about an hour, causing a large backup on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
