(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Three Minnesota Department of Transportation snowplows were struck by vehicles Wednesday morning in southeast Minnesota.

The crashes occurred between 9 a.m. and noon on three highways in the region, according to MnDOT. Low visibility and slick surfaces were reported at the time of the crashes. 

One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a crash around 10 a.m. on Highway 14 west of Byron. No other injuries were reported.

More than 100 MnDOT snowplows were deployed Wednesday across the region. MnDOT reminds motorists to drive slowly near snowplows, give them plenty of room and do not drive into a snow cloud.

Also worth noting: Five crashes were reported in the Rochester area Tuesday afternoon and evening due to slippery conditions, according to the State Patrol.
