Listen up, dogs: You're invited to a party this weekend in downtown Rochester

Listen up, dogs: You're invited to a party this weekend in downtown Rochester

It's the social event of the year — well, for those of us who walk on four legs.

The Rochester Downtown Alliance is inviting dog owners to bring their canine pals to Peace Plaza this Sunday from 1-5 p.m. for the first ever Dogs Downtown.

Only four days left to submit your Dogs Downtown Funny Photo Contest photos before the contest ends! A grand prize...

The event will feature on-stage demonstrations, dog-focused vendors and live music from The Dirty Laundry Duo and Driven By Rhythm.

If you do head down there, just remember to have your dog on a leash. Rochester's new pet leash ordinance, which requires dogs to be leashed within 25 feet of organized events, went into effect last weekend.

Dogs Downtown will be preceded by a special dog-themed edition of Movies on the Plaza featuring the 1993 classic Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. The film will begin Saturday around 9 p.m.
