Snow moving into area overnight
Rochester could get its first dose of heavy snow for 2018.
Evening rain on Wednesday is expected to give way to snowfall by early Thursday morning. Depending on which model you look at — and when it was updated — the Rochester area could get anywhere between 3 and 8 inches of snow. (Up-to-date forecast here).
The National Weather Service in La Crosse is warning drivers west of the Mississippi River of hazardous, slow travel for the Thursday morning commute.
By Friday, expect daytime temps to drop back down into the single digits.
